Game Summary

Despite getting outgained by almost 150 yards, Avon Lake scored 19 unanswered to defeat Hoover at home.

The Vikings got on the board in the first quarter when Luke Grandjean found Alex Binnie for a 4-yard touchdown pass.

Binnie caught 12 passes for 157 yards.

Grandjean finished 24-of-48 passing for 265 yards and three interceptions.

One of Grandjean’s interceptions was picked off by Danny Disbrow and returned 28 yards for a touchdown. That put the Shoreman on the board in the second quarter.

Hoover, which is 0-3 for the first time since 2004, had 11 more first downs and held the ball for nine more minutes then Avon Lake.
