Hoover 19 - Austintown Fitch 14

 October 5, 2005

Game Summary

AUSTINTOWN: Senior QB Josh Nettleton threw two touchdown passes as Hoover remained unbeaten in the Federal League.

Nettleton’s 12-yard touchdown pass to Matt Wakulchik in the fourth quarter gave the Vikings the lead for good. He also threw a 5-yard TD pass to Zac Cochenour in the first half.

Nettleton finished 17-of-25 passing for 176 yards. Kevin Dahl was Hoover’s leading rusher with 76 yards on 24 carries.

The Vikings coming off their finest defensive effort last week against GlenOak (allowing just 90 total yards), repeated their performance against Austintown Fitch.

Junior MLB Jordan Bucar led the defensive charge with 12 stops. “He’s the heart and soul of the defense,” Hoover head coach Don Hertler Jr. said.

“The guys up front let him (Bucar) make plays.” Hertler thought his seniors brought great emotion and energy, which picked up the team.

Senior K Alex Bojko also kicked a 25-yard field goal for the Vikings.
