NORTH CANTON — Keaton Rode threw for three touchdowns and made a game-sealing 39-yard field goal as the Bulldogs won at Memorial Stadium. 

After Hoover rallied from a 28-14 deficit to tie the score, McKinley (5-1, 3-0) went back on top with 7:47 left in the fourth quarter on Nino Hill’s 2-yard touchdown run. Rode added the field goal with 1:42 left to put the game away and run McKinley’s winning streak to four games.

Rode completed 13 of 19 passes for 162 yards and no interceptions. Stephon Thomas ran for 111 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries and caught a TD pass. Keith Quincy and Dayor Ferguson also snagged TDs from Rode, with Quincy grabbing an interception on defense. Hill added 61 yards on eight carries.

Hoover’s Mason Ashby returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown and caught 10 passes for 109 yards and a TD. Zach Braucher added six catches for 60 yards and a touchdown for the Vikings (3-3, 0-2). 

Carson Dyrlund completed 21 of 32 passes for 211 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
