HEAD FOOTBALL COACH
Coach Baum has completed his 9th season as Head Football Coach of the North Canton Hoover Vikings with a 52-43 record. In that span the Vikings have won two Federal League titles (2018 and 2021) and qualified for the OHSSA playoffs the last four years. Coach Baum has been honored as the Federal League Coach of the Year (2021) and Northeast Inland District Division II Coach of the Year (2021) and has twice represented North Canton Hoover on the North coaching staff of the OHSFCA North/South Classic (2019/2020).
From 2010-2014, Coach Baum was the Head Football Coach at Fredericktown High School. During his five years there, his record was 40-16 with two 10-0 campaigns, two playoff berths and numerous Coach of the Year honors.
In 2014, Coach Baum, who led Fredericktown to an 11-1 season, was selected as MOAC Blue Division Coach of the Year as well as Central District Division VI Coach of the Year by the Associated Press.
In 2010, Coach Baum, who led the Fredericktown Freddies to a 10-0 regular season and to the OHSSA Semifinals in his first season, was selected as MBC Coach of the Year, Central District Division V Coach of the Year as well as Ohio's Division V Coach of the Year by the Associated Press.
Coach Baum began his coaching career as an assistant varsity football coach at Mansfield Madison (2002-2009).
An Urbana College graduate, Coach Baum served as a member of the U.S. Army in Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005-2006).
Coach Baum, his wife Bethany and their three sons Brian Jr., Blaine and Baron live in the North Canton community and are very happy to be members of the Hoover football family.
