Hoover Football Tradition
Since 1924, North Canton athletes have competed on the gridiron for the pride of their classmates and dedicated fans.
The long tradition of Hoover football includes many league championships and post season accolades. Hoover has been a long-time member of the strong Federal League, where they have matched strength and skill with many of Ohio’s top football programs.
Hoover football is about tradition and rivalries. It is not uncommon for marquee matchups to attract upwards of 8,000 fans.
In a town that celebrates football like no other, boys become men. Subsequently, their talents are sought after by college teams from the Big Ten, MAC, Ivy League and other football conferences. Most noteworthy, Viking alums have been well represented in professional football, with grads having played for the Chiefs, Steelers, Bengals, Saints, Colts, Rams and Cowboys.
